There is a crow in the far tree,
its tail flushing in the wind;
the sky is gray, trees barren,
light thin on this shortest day.
I breathe slowly
drawing what I can
into the darkness,
letting the heart rest,
the mind relax.
There is enough.

Being where you are in the timeless world of the Now, lets the Heart rest and we see “there is enough.” Nature surrounds you and I am glad to see with your eyes for the moment.
Thanks, Don. Lovely poem and photograph. Both serene.

Oh, the song of a bird, the lonely dandelion flowering in the winter cold that delighted us on our walk, the sound of our own footsteps as we meander through the frozen woods, all reminders of our glorious home and our ability to say, yes, this is more than enough! I love your heart, Don. Thank you!
Thanks, Don. “There is enough.” I love that. Sometimes I repeat it as a mantra, as it composts so much clutter from my heart and mind. This has been a powerful season of composting clutter for me, bringing me back to the wisdom that there is enough. For right now, which is all that counts, there is enough.
Yes, there IS enough…and I give thanks for that!
Your poems always bring me back…:) thankyou
Not only “enough,” but just suspecting that I cannot take in “all” of the abundance available to be known, arouses warm tears of abject humility for it’s enormity. Even an ounce of gratitude I know is sufficient, but I am a bit drunken with a pint of it!–and still cannot express all that I am aware of, all that I can perceive. But….whatever is possible….is….”enough.” Thank you Don.
Beautiful. Thank you.
Reminds me of Lloyd’s, “It is enough/for magic has returned,” with you filling in the magic part!
