As if we understood,
the stars sing their ancient melody,
while the moon keeps
her soft vigil, faithful in love.
Our desires gently laid aside,
the night unveils her jewels,
and we abide in the peace
of a starlit Jerusalem.

Reading of “Starlit Home” with music by Paul & Linda McCartney.
“…while the moon keeps her soft vigil, faithful in love.” Very nice!
I love the image you paint of the moon, in her “soft vigil”–tender and so loving. ‘Tis a gentle poem, but so focused. Behold, the starlit heaven. Many blessings to you, Don.
Your poems lift my heart every time..gentle and deep..
Reminding us of the over-arching grace that abides here and now
Beautiful poem & photo. At times, we just have to stop & soak it all in. Thanks for sharing this.
