Out of the unseen
headlights crawl,
carving darkness
into makeshift pieces
above the breathing earth.

The bare branched trees
drink from forgiveness
in the wet rooted ground,
the ceremony of renewal
continuing below,
gathering strength
during long winter nights
for the rising to come.

  1. ……….and a grand ceremony, it is! Don, I love the imagery and message! Have a beautiful Winter Solstice!

  2. fine music by gary to accompany your soulful voice and the evocative javier photo. thank you don

  3. thanks Don, this is lovely, capturing perfectly the unconscious letting go of patterns and programs no longer relevant, and inner transformation always happening beneath the outer surface. The picture captures this image of the interplay of the poem perfectly.
