The day arrives in sunlit glory:
snow-capped mountains,
landscapes rich with color,
tidal seas chasing the moon.
After years of toil and grief
I turn and face forward
in this unexpected seat
on the train to Eden.
Without pause for doubt
I fill my lungs with salt-laced air
and my heart with peace
of open water.

Reading of “Tides of Eden” by the author
Beautiful, poignant. Puts me in mind of a spiritual, “This train is bound for glory…” Must be an open-air train where one can breathe in deeply the salt-laced air of spirit as one rides the tides to the peaceful calm of the open sea.
Don, toil and grief? That privileged life of yours? Friends galore? The poem is a good, well-constructed one. Thanks for sending it. – Love, Tom
I belong with the totality of my being to you my Lord. I do falter, yet bands of substance hold a place on this glory train, for just this moment in eternal time.
Indeed, the Day arrives in its perfect Time without pause for doubt — yet, in its stead, greeting a grateful Heart with Peace. Selah …
Don — I love the “spirit” of this poem. If we’re fortunate to have lived into our late 70’s, some of us are wisened & filled with gratitude for the beauty & mystery of the world around us. Thanks for this inspired verse. Mike
