One day past solstice
with enough sun to spark
the hardened seeds of faith
buried in winter
against cold and loss,

porous only to light’s
slightest undulation,
the naked tendril of desire
daring to uncurl in the dark.

  1. Daring to uncurl in the dark. That’s the deal right now, isn’t it? More than enough darkness to go around, both sacred and profane, but daring to uncurl anyway.

There is a promise inherent in the light’s undulation, something to uncurl toward!

  2. I love this season of stillness, where what wants to be found .. desires to be seen. These seeds are in my care to be nurtured and danced consciously as they seek to thrive in the radiance of my own light. Thank you Don for this new moment in my soul.

  3. one day after solstice … immediately after the subtlest shift in equilibrium … the earth cannot help but begin to grow again. Ain’t that wonderful! Thanks for drawing my attention to it 🙂
