Here in this room,
this morning
no machine sound,
no gears or clockwork
falling into place,
just the soundless yes
of your hair upon the pillow,
your breath soft in pre-dawn light.

  1. Beautiful, Don.

There’s a mission statement in there: “hearing the soundless yeses in my life”

  2. Amazing contrast as I am surrounded by a soundful monsoon thunderstorm, thrashing the tin roof; and yet…soundless in mind and heart, in communion with your creation this moment. Thank you.

  3. Very nice. Hope you are collecting these short poems about your appreciation and love into a heart shaped book!

  4. Presence witnesses more profoundly than proclamation… Love it! Thanks, Don. You are the Gift, Brother.

  5. I awoke into a landscape of quiet..trees with leaves silently breathing..No further movement. Profound. Thanks for adding your experience of quiet human breathing very touching you are blessed

  6. Don, what an exquisite word portrayal of the intimate, holy moment. As the very fine comments all suggest, each one of us experience the Sacred in the moment of our reading. Each comment, living poetry in its own write, blessing upon blessing extended.
