Though you’ve wandered far
and forsaken the familiar,
who called you to become
like the earth long enduring?

She waits in winter dark,
alive in the night
beside wind driven seas.
She offers Herself
to all who approach Her,
a gift beyond reckoning
bittersweet and rich
with the presence
of the eternal.

  1. Beautiful and moving Don. Easy to get my Heart around! Not so much with my mind. Eilish’s art is so beautiful! Thank you.

  2. So lovely to hear your voice through improvisation. Wishing you blessings.

  3. So lovely–The all together of your voice, Maryliz’ music and Eilish’s visual feast. Love this. Thank you.

  4. Your words here are beautifully clothed with your choice of music and are set in a mystical world of blues and greens that calls one to breathe deeply.
    Thank you, Don.

  5. Pursuant to the question posed here (profound as what was heard by Job of old), “Who calls Me, here and now, to become like the Earth, long enduring?”, I hear whispers of Mother Earth Herself waiting, listening, while poised to offer. And, as I respectfully, protectively approach Her anew, I now behold Her alive in that Light that radiates the Presence of the Eternal.

  6. In every transition and passage of uncomfortable change the wisdom of trees has always been the greatest healer. Light passing through leaves. The grace of beauty that seeks no approval. The message I receive is keep growing, reach beyond your comfort of what you already know, there is something to discover as reach higher into the light that you won’t know till you do.

  7. yes She offers Herself — look, a wondrous Woman appearing, clothed with the radiance of the Sun — yes He offers Himself in this rising Solstice Cycle — we journey long and long together

  8. Lovely painting by Eilish. If anyone has not read The Irish Girl, it is quite enjoyable.
