Bread and wine,
a crown of thorns,
lies of judgement
and lonely walk.

To carry a cross
and know betrayal
the mortal road,
yet the cherry tree
blossoms
and throughout
the earth

a risen life
in green and gold
bathes our longing eyes
with the beauty
once again
of morning.

  1. This poem causes me to be aware this morning, that eyes which are bathed in beauty are healed, and become new eyes through which to really see, and in this same way all the senses may be healed and renewed. And I look out at the world, and the world is bathed the light of being from without and from within. The poem came to me, and now it moves out through me, that beauty might increase. Thank you Brother, for this catalyst, this simple little poem.

  2. Thank you, Don. Simplicity says it best. You said it quite accurately. It resonates with my story. I know that I am the story I am telling, a living poem, moment by moment, in the wonder of creation.

  3. What He went through those days, I now see as a blueprint, a pattern, for these days. This pattern has oft been repeated until now when a plague says “PAY ATTENTION!”

My prayer is that humanity will finally roll the stone aside and come into the full glory of who we are.

  4. Beautifully crafted Don, thank you. I’m so grateful so grateful for the first breath as I arise each morning, a miracle in itself!

  5. Don, this one is a lovely meditation, one to keep in mind this season and all seasons. Happy Easter.

  6. Beautiful resurrection story, a new awakening, the price paid for sins of the world. How relevant. Thank you for this blessing today.

  7. Last night before a blizzard passed through, I heard a horde of snow geese flying over at low elevation due to harsh wind. Suddenly, they stopped honking….must have landed on the nearby warm water pond. Never mind bearing a cross. As for me, I have pills to take and spreading love. And for the geese? Well… its a long flight to Alberta.

  8. Judgement, suffering and betrayal are assured in the life of human consciousness. Forgiveness brings the end of old, beginning anew.
