Grace is not forgotten—
the slender threads
of love’s garment
are not to be undone.

Scatter death’s ashes
in the winter forest,
and from the darkened earth
life will rise,
life will rise.

  1. I heartily agree, Don! Grace is certainly not forgotten. And It never will be. For Grace is unceasingly begotten through ever unfolding expressions of Love bestowed to and from Us and countless others everywhere. Thereby, Life can and will inevitably rise!

  2. So touching and meaningful used it for my younger brother’s eulogy thanks cousin and friend

  3. Rising again in the appointed time, God’s Grace is my sufficiency, in all give thanks. Thank you for leading the Way.

  4. Exquisite poem and photograph. William Stafford spoke of the “Thread you follow.” “It goes among things that change.” “But it doesn’t change.” “You don’t ever let go of the thread.” A companion to your poem. Let love radiate. Thank you kind man.
