The morning won’t deceive you
with its freshened air and sound of birds.
You needn’t rely on memory;
the timeless touch is on every plant.
Turn off the pleas of the captured,
designed to mislead you,
and step into your many-colored garment
of sunlight and soft breezes,
thankful for the silence,
awake to the eternal.

A wonderful poem!
Wow! Don, this is PERFECT! Absolutely mesmerizing. And congratulations on you & your new book “Something Will Change Me” being awarded a Global Books Gold Medal!
I give thanks to this present moment to be grateful for this week’s poem. Beautiful! Also, I really enjoy the look of your new “Slender Arrow Press” site. Very pleasing to the eye brother!
I like this. Very evocative, Don! “Step into your multicolored garment of sunlight and soft breezes…”
Great new look for the website, Don!
Beautiful poem, too, of course — I agree with you that this moment surely is the time to let sunlight and clean wind expose the voices that deceive. I can’t stay sane or even survive without trusting something. Let me trust this morning’s sunlight and living air.
Fabulous news about your well deserved award! Great new look for the website too.
A gift a thousand times over.
Grateful for you on so many levels.
Congratulations!!!
I so enjoy seeing all these garments being gifts received in easeful alignment, holding in the Fire that is our breath.
Well done on your new website look! I’m a-likening that poem—I might have changed up the comma after “memory” for a colon, but what do I know? There’s some mystery in there, which is always a good thing in a poem.
Don, I like “awake to the eternal” as the ending. Very fine. Thank you.
Thankyou for this timely reminder…that we are truly blessed by the advent of this new morning
