Tell you what I’ll do.
I’ll scrub the world with steel wool,
scrape away the grimy bits
of cruelty and war,
put soap and water
to sorrow and despair.
Fresh flowers on all the graves,
remembrances for the forgotten.
Silence to cleanse the tangle of sound
then starlight for speaking.
When you awake, you’ll find tears
of kindness watering the garden,
and green earth waiting.
That’s what I’ll do
for you this morning.
Reading of “In the Hour Before Dawn”
HA!
A moment of astoundment as I contemplate this possibility
Beautiful offerings of the spirits of the New Earth.
Thank you, friend.
Boy, that is a big job! I can help also.
Happens every sunrise after healing night. This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Don, I think this is the loveliest poem you have ever written!
Very generous of you poet. I’m with Andrew’s comment. You do embody the spirit of the New Earth.
Don, You have captured the promise of the new Heaven and what the Lord of Love offers in each moment. Beautiful!
Strangely moving. Thank you.
BRAVO, BROTHER!
Don, Reading this, I thought right away of the Mama’s and Papas song ” whisper a little prayer for me my baby…and the darkest hour is just before dawn” … Great tune and yours is a sweet poem.
Don, I woke up this morning to your gift. Peace in my heart. Thank you.
Needed 🙏🏼
Don, this is a gorgeous love poem, and I am touched to feel that love in this new world. So generous, and clear and guileless. I love it.
Touching.
Thank you, Don – I’ll be sharing this one!
Thank you, Don…what a generous gift this is!
So poignant Don! I sense that my personal garden of mind and heart has been watered deeply with your kindness. Blessings to you my friend!
I was surprised (and delighted) by the direct address of this poem. That’s not a thing I’ve seen you do before, and I thought it really worked.
