Skipping Ahead

No translation needed
for the language of the heart.
Age doesn’t matter, only innocence
and desire for the timeless.
You thought I was left behind
but actually I skipped ahead,
speaking the language
of the pure in heart,
no translation needed.

  1. You speak my language, poet sublime. A short poem with penetrating rhyme and verse. Thank you, Don.

  2. David Barnes says:

Right on Don! Here I am and here you are, walking in the Way together, a Path of Glory behind and before. In the language of miracles: I in Thou and Thou in Me.

  3. Tom Figel says:

Don, this language is clever. As a bonus, I think you have given some friends an idea for new hairstyles. Now that they are retired, these lawyers are free to be themselves.

  4. John Albright says:

Blessed are the pure in heart. More meaningful and deeply felt as we move together.

  5. Mike McCauley says:

Don — I love your poem. Like church sermons, your poems are the best when they are relatively brief. And now that I am a retired lawyer, strangely enough, I feel free to be myself. So I am going to get a new hairstyle, just like Tom Figel suggested.

  6. PenDell Pittman says:

“I” bear witness of this moment’s sacred interplay between a perusing, yet distracted questioner and the ever-patient Divine Answerer. SO, Who am “I”? I AM the timeless Oneness of Heaven embuing the Pure in Heart — “no translation needed”.

  7. Ed Haimes says:

Thank you Don. What a delightful spirit portrayed by your thoughts and words. A lightness of spirit. What an exquisite painting by Eilish.

  8. Stan Grindstaff says:

Thank you, Don, for not leaving me behind—in this spiral evocation I resonate with you—no translation needed 😇

  9. Steve Bodaness says:

This is a beautiful expression of your innocence and pure heart Don. A most potent expression with no translation needed! Thank you so very much.

  10. Eilish 🍓 Hynes says:

This one for the books dad. Sinead was so far ahead the church went Jesus mode on her and put her on the cross. She held the line on “I do” for my whole generation. Bless up to courage. The wisdom that comes from healing, teaches that in time the only way to integrate my/yours/and the whole worlds darkness and the light is gratitude and forgiveness. Keep them poems coming dad! ❤️🍓
