All in One

In that first still moment
when the sun rises
casting light across the sea
and leaves lift in soft breezes,
the presence of God
comes alive in the world.
Rest in that grace,
with the knowledge
of the One in all
and within
your trembling heart
the All in one.

Gratitude Don. Across that thrilling threshold—trembling in the Presence—Love is All and All is Love.

  2. Jamail McKinney says:

Letting the presence of God come in is a good step, but letting the god emerge into this world is what it all should be. Thanks Don for your weekly offerring. Most essential in these difficult times.

  3. Christina Pivarnik says:

Magnificent, Don, as we dance in the grace of God, living our lives in Love.

  4. Tom Figel says:

Don, this is a fine reflection. As I think of your daybreak vision, I also remember some lawyer friends who often see the same sight as they arrive home from nights of dissipation. Most likely, their reflections are not yours.

  5. Robin Bryant says:

I so love the blessings of your poem, and sensing its rhythms as I awake.

  6. Ed Haimes says:

As the Three Musketeers said . “All for one, and one for all.” And I would add, “All is One, One is All.” Thanks, Don for the morning light formed in words.

  7. Lloyd Meeker says:

Exquisite, Don — the pure essence of understanding, and of our empowerment to bless.

  8. Mike McCauley says:

Don — I enjoyed your poem today, in spite of Tom Figel’s flagrant defamation of lawyers. I can assure you that after arriving home from many, many nights of dissipation, we lawyers have always viewed the rising sun with a reflection that is similar to yours.

  9. Geoff Tisch says:

    Beautiful vision. Heartfelt. Revealing.
Thank you don for this gift.

  10. PenDell Pittman says:

May that first still moment of my rising alive in this world rest, as ever, in the Grace of God in me, until that last still moment when my trembling heart surrenders itself upward unto the All in One that Is. Peace Be Still …
