A flight of crows
silhouette the morning.
Red skies to the east
speak of coming rain
though the air above
is clear and blue
as cold snaps
the power lines.
The old earth
claws for purchase
yet the turning
reaches from furthest star
to the roots of trees,
a new heaven
poised over the horizon,
beginning even now
to shape the world anew.

A new heaven is aborning in my consciousness as I open wide, so very wide, the space for it’s coming to the openness in the earth of my heart.

I love your poem, Don. A new heaven that is beginning, even now, to shape the new. The waiting is unnecessary, we know it now, we sense it in our very being! There is no imaginary world coming down in the clouds to impress us, but our very breath is the sign of the new earth! We are humble in the knowledge!
