Light that Lives

Awake in the early hours
while the stony earth sleeps,
I drop a line into the inner river,
my bone hook baited
with the scored flesh of faith,
aching for another glimpse
of the golden light
that lives where darkness
cannot reach.

Beautifully said Don. May our confidence that light is always present, even when we don’t see it everyday, continue to remind us to be mindful where we put our line down.

Don, any poem and any man or woman that speaks of Living Light is right up there in my eyes and in my heart—here you evoke experience born of knowing, which is love and light in living flesh. Selah
