At the Heart of the World

At the heart of the world

an altar pulsing light,

crucibles of fire

where the stories of Earth

rise with fragrant incense

into streams of compassion

nourished by a single life

and all its mystery.

  1. Kay O'Neill says:

At this time of my life I feel drawn to the underlying purpose of existence. Your images describe it beautifully…and broaden my reflections. Thank you.

  2. Randy Hobbs says:

I like this one very much!!

  3. Bill Dare says:

Sweet imagery… I can smell the crucibles sending their incense throughout my life.

  4. I’m touched as the core of each of us beats like the heart of the world, One within that which propels all. What I notice about your poems is that they and certainly this one inspire me to really look and feel what it means to me and my relationship to the Divine. Thanks
