Into the Night

Into the night air

and winter sky

of bright light on ebony

I finally exhale,

feel my body settle

and guts shift

to match the soul

beckoning wordlessly

into the uncharted

windswept trek

over towering passes

etched in stone,

finding faith

in the green

that awaits.

Living one’s life passionately, each moment, warrior and dancer always on hand for the next step. THAT is the green belt of a life wholly lived!–into, and through, each dark night, the new sun daily arising to warm and replenish one’s bones. Deep gratitude, Don.

This is a painting masquerading as a poem.
