The earth will rise,
seas will part,
across the vast land
winds of change
turn day to night
and night to howling dark.
Animals take shelter
in the highland wood,
birds in every brush and thicket.

A moment comes
silent and serene
when clouds open
and memory resolves.
The voice that sounds
rings upon the mountains,
ripples across the deserts,
lifts bright waves
upon the sea.

There is only one life
this voice will say.
The age of war is over.

  1. And the time when the voice says it’s over feels close…
    Thank you, Don!

  2. Oh, oh, — pondering what’s pointed to.
Inner transits? Does he portend greater global forces?? What do I hear happening???
What a provocation–vacare–call to the inner voices that I’m lately not tuned to.

  3. Well done, Don!

Indeed, the Age of War is over. Long, long ago, someone said, “It is finished.” What we observe occurring on the screen has already passed away – long ago passed away. All that is already in the long past.

This is indeed a new Age – an Age of Radiance – wherein wars and rumours of wars are but dying echoes of an old and heavey burden, now gone. Listen to the Voice that sounds Now – and your words, Don, are part of that new Voice, serene and silent in the world, yet like thunderings and lightnings in the heart.

  4. Reading/hearing these words, I am en-couraged…made able to stand in my heart…strengthened to stand strong even as waves of fear wash through me and over me, knowing that Love casts out Fear. Darkness cannot abide in the presence of Light.
Thank you, Don, for standing with us and among us, en-couraging us with your presence and these words that come forth from your presence.

  5. I love this poem, and I love seeing that war is over, when I know it’s over in me. Hold up the white flags, release the fear, be the truth, know compassion and the beautiful vulnerability of being alive with all that enlivens! Thank You!

  6. I have been ready for war to be over since before I was even born. I think this is the most important poem you’ve written to date.

  7. This could have many valid meanings, Don – internal and external. When it comes to the war that rages in the human activity on this planet, I fear it is not quite over — although the end seems Inevitable and near. The desperate state of disintegration builds daily. May the war end soon for the sake of innocent life and the beauty of this creation.

  8. The one voice no longer silent
In silence it can be heard
Time of grace….thank you Don for this vivid picture of now♥️

  9. This is strong and beautiful, Don. I would like to add my voice of agreement to your words and the spirit of them. It is a time of Blessing.

  10. May it be so , that blessings and the light of a new day of deeper empathy
and open hearted hope for all beings sustains us uncovering new joy in the our hungry spirits journey together,

  11. I felt myself contracting as I read filled with ominous foreboding and then released into a new dawn by the end.
