Suffer the windswept ocean,
the cold air and crested waves
on this patch of green.
An aquifer of imagination
lies underground in pools,
rising through the roots of trees
and the sound of orcas breathing.
Down in the dark water,
up into evergreen towers,
I mingle with the gods of earth and sea
and sing all praise to the rain-cast morning.

  1. Love the imagery and sense of an infinite pool of earth/sea energy to tap into.

  2. I Thank You, Don — For I see “the patch of green” as vividly epitomizing my earthen soul, with its yearning to drink in deep, dark, underground waters below, amidst the vast waves of imaginal waters towering above. Hence, I sing all praise for the rain-cast dawning in me that sees all Waters as One.

  3. If I am on deck it all may and will rise up coming back to the origins upon which innocence will be known again. Moving right through the illusion of ancestral shame.

  4. Thank you Don. The wellspring of creative thought and imagination is endless and boundless.

  5. All stimulation from our foundation, our earth, is glorious and instructive. We praise it forever. I am so grateful for your vision and artistry!

  6. Nice, Don. If you’re not mingling with the gods of earth and sea, and are in PDX let me know.

  7. Don — Please let your irrepressible pal Tom Figel know that as an environmental attorney, I worked zealously to protect “aquifers of imagination” & aquifers filled with groundwater all over this land. And BTW, I loved your poem.

  8. Most exquisite Don — an aquifer of imagination manifest, displayed and arrayed in the Creative Word of glory and praise to the Source
