I hadn’t found you
though I’d looked
in the branches above
and roots below the street,
in the faces of the serious
and the moon behind clouds.

Searching high and low
I came up empty
until I looked in the space
where the heart softly beats,
where dreams are crafted,

and in the silence
without regret
there I found you.

  1. Don, I think I found Nancy in the same place. It’s been terrific but not so quiet as it once was. Thanks for the lovely, inspired poem today.

  2. Incredibly simple images and gateway to going within. Thanks Don.

  3. Thank you Don.
Your words bear good fruit, no empty husks. Pick – and enjoy. Pick! – lest the fruit die on the vine.

  4. I thought this poem particularly lovely and resonates so deeply with me this morning. Thank you for your talent and sustained hard work. I do not take for granted the way you bring your poetry to us.

  5. I’m SO grateful for these, your tender and timely words, Don, that I’m now uttering them, deeply heartfully, to my Highest Self — so that It hears that I too know what It has Always known: “Sublime Silence Without Regret”.
