The year turns over,
some inner gear clicks
and the limp lessens,

balanced by the faces
of love and grief
melding into light;

shining through
winter cold on seeds
of years to come,

blessing the unseen
as stories to be told,

while the deep earth
waits in silence.

  1. Interesting about those “inner gears”, isn’t it……wonderful turning of phrases (or is it phrases of turning?)…….thanks Don……

  2. Three words come to mind as I read this: softening, forgiveness and renewal. Thank you, Don, this is a peaceful way to begin the year.

  3. ” shining through winter cold on seeds of years to come ” This reminds me of the pregnant state of winter in her season .. awaiting the arrival of new births in spring. How blessed we are to know the delight of co creating with nature, and moving with her cycles. Thank You Don!

  4. Inner gear click….yes, and my inner ear listening with the Mother, newness pregnant within her womb…and within my own soul, for that which will be torn from me, and that which will dawn within me, maybe in this carnation, maybe another.

  5. Deep in the stillness the seeds of life turns in the soil..
    Stirring slowly reaching toward the sun…
    beautiful images of renewal and rebirth…thanks Don for a graceful entry to the New Year♥️
