Crows fill the windswept shoreline,
black silhouettes against the sky.
The sea is gunmetal gray, with sunlight
breaking through rose-tinted clouds.
Firs sway and dance above in the wind,
below, the silent stone keeps its counsel.
As shadows ease with the coming of color,
crow wing, tree branch, and life’s old scars
are touched for a moment
by sunlight and sea.

  1. Don — Whereas I could see my everyday experience of human interactions and situations rarely being ‘black-&-white’ only, your richly worded depiction here of manifold shades of shadow and Light, seamlessly integrated by Nature Itself, draws forth a palpable sense of Oneness in me. For that deeply relieving sense of Peace, I am truly grateful. Thanks Muchly, Friend!
