Grace is not forgotten—
the slender threads
of love’s garment
are not to be undone.
Scatter death’s ashes
in the winter forest,
and from the darkened earth
life will rise,
life will rise.

Reading of “Life Will Rise” with intro music by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings
Indeed, Don, Life always prevails.
Don, a poem with optimism in it is a good tonic this Sunday morning. Thanks.
Simple and simply beautiful beloved poet. Thank you.
Don — Beautiful. Hope springs eternal.
PS: Gorgeous photo!
I heartily agree, Don! Grace is certainly not forgotten. And It never will be. For Grace is unceasingly begotten through ever unfolding expressions of Love bestowed to and from Us and countless others everywhere. Thereby, Life can and will inevitably rise!
So touching and meaningful used it for my younger brother’s eulogy thanks cousin and friend
Rising again in the appointed time, God’s Grace is my sufficiency, in all give thanks. Thank you for leading the Way.
Living in the Spirit does cover all bases in rising up in these days.
Exquisite poem and photograph. William Stafford spoke of the “Thread you follow.” “It goes among things that change.” “But it doesn’t change.” “You don’t ever let go of the thread.” A companion to your poem. Let love radiate. Thank you kind man.
Nice thoughts. Enjoyed the accompanying photo, too.
