Before a wall
of ancient stone,
I place prayers
in cracks of silence.
As tears soften
my calloused heart,
I trace a portal,
barred by tradition.
No incantations
or chanted spells,
one simple yes
unlocks the door.
Then heart’s chapel,
quietly adorned,
face to face
with the Eternal.

Yes.
Don, quite a mood in this. I see from the photo today that Kevin Daly’s head has cleared since that Bengal Bouts thrashing. Great stuff from you two.
‘YES’ The Open Heart’s Chapel Doorway to the Eternal ….
Don: a great piece. Reminds me of the prayers put in the wailing wall in Jerusalem.
Yes, 1000 times yes
“I see plainly how many firm acts have been done; how many valiant noes have this day been spoken, when others would have uttered ruinous yeas.”
Emerson quote from his essay on Character suggests how many no’s are needed, given human nature, until we come to that point of realizing there must be one true yes.
Esoterically, this is depicted as making the right hand turn in the Kings Chamber of the Great Pyramid…a turn toward the empty sarcophagus and realization of resurrection and ascension out of those realms of consciousness into which we have fallen, that inevitably come to a bleak, blank wall and no further progress in the life cycle.
Ancient truth; as always bears contemporary relevance. Thank you Don for the reminder; this is what it stirred in me.
A ditto of YES arises in the seeing in the quietude needed to reacquaint in our added gait coming into some knowing of our true Life .
Very nice, Don!
Yes indeed, I think to myself, realizing how fragile life is. Keep breathing, appreciating and voicing love to those around me.
The Miracle of yes
Great little poem. The Irish wailing wall. Centuries of storms have passed over these stones. We humans are very transitory.
