Flood tide fills
the coves and beaches,
with sunlight bright
on a calm sea.

Beauty enters
the hollow places,
bringing peace
to heart and mind
as hunger vanishes.

The glow of dew
on fresh grass,
rich mosses
in tricolor green,
and quiet presence
of the earth

form a holy rosary,
strung bead by bead
into a living prayer.

  1. Don, too cheap to buy a real rosary, I see. I suppose the lawyers took advantage of your innocence and stripped you of the means. Just the same, the poem is quiet, thoughtful and beautiful.

  2. I walked a mile this morning on autumn-colored, tree-lined streets to my beloved city park, experiencing my own form of the holy rosary you so beautifully and vividly describe. Thank you, Don.

  3. When Beauty enters upon any hollow places lingering in the bravest of souls who, amid deterrents, thirst for Righteousness, those hollow places become Holy Places filled with Purity of Heart and Peace of Mind. (Hence, worldly hungers have vanished already!)

  4. Yet again, a gift of great beauty. We appreciate your steadfast consistency in sharing yourself through these poems, and their carefully chosen settings of photography and music.
